First Aid requirements for CTC Leader courses
The first aid requirements for CTC Leader Awards changed at the end of 2009 due to modifications to the Health and
Safety Executive specifications for first aid in the workplace coming into force.
CTC no longer requires to verify your first aid competencies prior to issuing your Leader Award certificate. Your competency in first aid should now be assessed through your workplace or customers.
Of course, CTC Leader Awards still verify your competency at preventing and managing incidents and accident situations.
CTC recommends that anyone leading a group of cyclists or mountain bikers should hold a valid first aid certificate appropriate to the environment they are in. Our recommendations align with other outdoor qualifications, such as a 2 day outdoors based first aid course as appropriate.
CTC provides cycling and mountain bike oriented ITC First Aid in the outdoors courses through selected tutors.
