Lake Tahoe, California
The whole region of Lake Tahoe and its surrounding areas is known for mountain biking. Tahoe has always been one of the top mountain biking destinations, but recent trail developments have really turned this area into a luxury, first class riding destination. There are uphill and downhill trails, steep hills and climbs, gorgeous lake views, and plenty of restaurants and bike shops. There’s also about six breweries in the area, so if beer is your thing, definitely hit up these trails.
Parkersburg, West Virginia
West Virginia is known for its bike trails and beautiful mountains. Mountwood, located in Parkersburg, West Virginia is one of the most sought-after trail networks in the state. There are tons of well-maintained singletrack for everyone. There are steep climbs, long downhill sections and tons of different directions for you to take. In the wintertime, it is just gorgeous. The snow sets at the top of the famous Appalachian Mountains, and glistens. It’s worth climbing to get a peek of that view.
Park City, Utah
Park City is known as every rider’s dream because of its huge network of trails that are all accessible to downtown. There are two bike parks, bike repair stations everywhere, and access to shuttle buses here. Most trails in this system are classic trail riding or enduro riding, however, if you’re seeking downhill riding, you can always get a ticket for a lift bump. The beautiful Canyons and Deer Valley is the place to be if your heart is set on some extensive downhill riding. Park City is always expanding and bettering not only the town, but the trails as well. Private resorts are being built in Deer Valley and they’re always working nonstop to provide even more singletrack, as they currently have over 400 miles of interconnected singletrack.
Brevard, North Carolina
There are hundreds of miles of technical backcountry singletrack in Brevard with beautiful views of the Appalachian Mountains. The trails in Brevard include bike shops, bike rentals, racing, and basically anything that you can think of that pertains to biking. The trails are windy, steep, and there are several lazy streams through the valleys that make for great pit stops. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing ride, a great adventure, or just a place for a quiet picnic, Brevard has a trail for you.
